We will be doing PYO again this weekend, both days, from 11am to 4pm. Weather looks great, low to mid-70’s and a mix of sun and clouds. If you are waiting for chilly weather to pick apples, it’s coming in another week, but we strongly recommend that you pick this weekend in order to avoid missing some great varieties that won’t last.
We will have Cortland, Empire, Freedom, Liberty, Golden Delicious, Red Delicious, Macoun, Jonagold, Baldwin, Rhode Island Greening, maybe Spigold, and Spencer by request. There are still Asian pears as well.
And a reminder, we grow using 100% organic practices and materials, but are not certified organic. This is not an easy way to grow fruit in New England, but we are fortunate to have a high quality crop this year.
We’ll provide half-peck and peck bags (or bushel boxes if you need them) and some tips on picking. Bring family, friends, and your camera, and feel free to pack a lunch and a picnic blanket, or use our picnic tables. Sorry, no pets or tree-climbing allowed, and no public bathroom available.
Note that PYO parking is available from the farm entrance at approximately 495 Middle Street, about 100 yards north from the Bay Road intersection, not at the farmstand location on Bay Road. See you at the orchard!
